Where we train

Daimler Green

We are not tucked away on an industrial estate. Fight Academy sits inside a working community centre run by Sikh Union Coventry, with a bar, function rooms, floodlit pitches and a play area all on the same site.

01

The building

A community centre that actually serves the community

Daimler Green Community Recreation Centre reopened under Sikh Union Coventry to give the area a proper place for sport, fitness, leisure and social life. We are one part of a site that runs seven days a week.

01

A proper community centre

We train inside Daimler Green Community Recreation Centre, a genuine community hub run by Sikh Union Coventry, with a sports hall, function rooms and a calendar of local activity that runs all week.

02

Community bar

There is a bar on site, so parents can sit down with a drink while the juniors train, and the club has somewhere to gather after a show or a squad night.

03

Floodlit 3G and grass pitches

The centre has a full size floodlit 3G pitch available in halves or full, plus grass pitches hosting 8v8 and 11v11. Football, hockey and more share the site with us.

04

Children's play area and green space

An outdoor play area and open green sit right beside the building, which makes the school run to training considerably easier on everyone.

05

Free parking, changing rooms, step free entry

Free on site parking, changing rooms and toilets, and a level entrance. No city centre one way system and no parking meters.

06

Shops and the Arena a few minutes away

Arena Shopping Park and the Coventry Building Society Arena are a short drive north, with local shops closer still and Junction 3 of the M6 about a mile from the door.

The neighbourhood

A good part of Coventry to spend an evening in

Daimler Green sits in Radford, north of the city centre, on the site that once belonged to the Daimler motor works. It is a settled residential area with green space, playing fields and a real sense of neighbourhood, which is exactly the sort of place a community boxing club should be.

Because the centre does so much more than boxing, training here rarely means just training. Parents wait in the bar. Football finishes as we start. Kids run about on the play area while the older ones wrap their hands.

  • Arena Shopping Park

Large retail park with the usual big names, a short drive north of the centre.

  • Coventry Building Society Arena

Home of the city’s big match days and concerts, just beyond the shopping park.

  • Local shops and takeaways

Everyday shops sit within a few minutes of the door for anything you forgot to pack.

  • M6 Junction 3

About a mile away, which makes us easy to reach from Bedworth, Nuneaton and beyond.
